Fecalysis, or a stool exam, is a series of tests conducted on a stool sample. This procedure detects bacteria and parasites that are causative agents of diseases. Aside from detecting living organisms, a fecalysis test can also detect substances such as blood, bile, or sugar, which are not normally found in the stool.

A urinalysis is a test of your urine. A urinalysis is used to detect and manage a wide range of disorders, such as urinary tract infections, kidney disease and diabetes. A urinalysis involves checking the appearance, concentration and content of urine.

This test requires a 12-hour fast. You should wait to eat and/or take a hypoglycemic agent (insulin or oral medication) until after test has been drawn, unless told otherwise. A test that measures blood sugar levels. Elevated levels are associated with diabetes and insulin resistance, in which the body cannot properly handle sugar (e.g. obesity).
